Hattie & Sam’s Stunning Wedding at the Gorgeous Somerley House
Hattie first contacted me back in April 2019. I had a lovely email and I was absolutely delighted to check my diary and see I was available to look after Her, And her bridal party. Their wedding was at one of the most beautiful Wedding Venues in South, Somerley house. I’m so lucky to be a preferred supplier at Somerley house, it’s somewhere I really love going. The drive there, (through the New forest for me,) and Alex the amazing, knowledgeable and ruddy beautiful human, who takes care of everything, is also a lovely welcoming host. It is somewhere you can just feel a whole sense of calm as soon as you set foot through the door. The huge sweeping staircases, rolling views and a lovely cup of tea also!
So we rearranged a rehearsal for Hattie to make the trip from London, to my little studio in Whiteley, along with her mum and what a fabulous morning it was. We managed to coordinate with other suppliers, so she could have her make up rehearsal and also go and meet the lovely Tracy and talk Tiaras.
I could not wait for Hattie’s wedding to come round ,I knew it was going to be one to remember and such a fabulous morning filled with giggles and so much love for this beautiful bride. We started at one venue and then jumped into cars and moved to Somerley upon check in time. This added to such a fun morning, a little convoy of gorgeous ladies, with suit bags and luggage stacked high.
We arrived at Somerley to a warm welcome and I quickly got set up, in the beautiful Bridal suite. Having such a beautiful big light and airy room really does make for some amazing wedding pictures it also helps when you have five bridesmaids, your Mum and of all the suppliers in the same place, not tripping over each other. Some wedding venues can be so cramped and it adds to a very stressful day, you don’t get that at Somerley, it is light and airy and calm.
Hattie’s beautiful dress was from Anna bridal couture, in Ringwood. It was a Suzanne Neville dress. It was simply stunning the way the fabric hung and looked so simple, but it wasn’t. It was a real work of art that fitted incredibly and looked stunning. Add to that and utterly breathtaking veil and a bespoke tiara with Swarovski crystals, by White designs and Hattie was every bit the Most beautiful Bride.
Hattie opted for a very natural hair look. She wears her hair down and wanted to keep it soft and simple and it was the right decision. Her dress didn’t require anything fussy, so we just prepared the hair with some volume and shape. Wearing a veil with your hair down, can be tricky. We have some little tricks to secure a long veil, in hair down styles, if you don’t anchor it properly, it’ll just slide straight out and don’t even mention someone treading on it!
We loved working with Hattie and her Bridesmaids at Somerley, a truly wonderful day.
